CHIEF OF POLICE
Carlos Enriquez, Chief of Police, MPA.
Chief Enriquez began his career in corrections as a Correctional Officer and Sergeant at a private correctional institution in West Texas. After obtaining his Peace officer license in 2001, he commenced his peace officer career at a police agency in the Lower Valley of El Paso County. In 2006, he transitioned to the Anthony Police Department as an Officer. As the years progressed, he served in the following positions of greater responsibility: Criminal Investigation/Internal Affairs Detective, Patrol Lieutenant, and Crime Prevention Inspector. In February 2012, he was selected as the Chief of Police for the Anthony Police Department.
With a total combined 23 years in law enforcement, Chief Enriquez has served his community as a law enforcement professional and invested his focus on improving his community. During his tenure, he developed a nonprofit organization that assists in providing food and financial assistance to the community. He is a credentialed mediator with the El Paso Dispute Resolution Center and a grant writer for the Town of Anthony Texas. Chief Enriquez is also the Anthony community liaison and plays a vital role in community relations. He founded a committee to help aid children and parents in their relationships and growth as a family. He has conducted extensive public relations outreach and has focused on Community policing being at the forefront of the organization while providing “Service through Integrity.”
Chief Enriquez holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Phoenix in Criminal Justice Administration and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Grand Canyon University.
Carlos Enriquez is the Chief of the Anthony, Texas, Police Department, also known as APD. He leads a department of 20 sworn law enforcement and 5 support personnel who carry out police operations within the City of Anthony 24 hours/ 7 days a week. Chief Enriquez believes in the utmost importance of good communication for a successful community. He has steadily worked to strengthen the bond between the people of Anthony and their police department. He has forged partnerships with elected officials, diverse community organizations, youth groups, district attorneys, the defense bar, and the media.

The mission of the Anthony Police Department is dedicated to the provision of superlative law enforcement services to our community. Our continuous efforts are aimed at enhancing public perception of community safety by addressing criminal activities and mitigating factors detrimental to public security. Since assuming the role of Chief of Police in 2012, I have found great satisfaction in serving the Town of Anthony, Texas. The department prides itself on maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, with safety, education, community engagement, and professionalism as our foremost priorities.
At the Anthony Police Department, our commitment revolves around ensuring the daily safety of all residents and visitors. We actively encourage community members to engage with our officers, fostering mutual understanding and trust, which are pivotal to effective policing. As C.S. Lewis eloquently expressed, "Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another: What! You too? I thought I was the only one."
