We are currently hiring:
- Reserve Peace Officer
- Full-Time Peace Officer
APD seeks police officers with general law enforcement certification or who are currently working in a law enforcement agency. Former law enforcement officers who have a break in service of less than 12 months long can also apply. We are currently seeking certified peace Officers without experience for our reserve program. The reserve program gives those certified peace officers the chance to receive training and opportunities for full-time spots once the reserve officer completes the FTO program.
APD officers' benefits include retirement programs, major medical insurance, competitive vacation, and sick time.
In addition, the opportunities for career advancement along a variety of paths are nearly endless with the Anthony Police Department, and you won't find a better group of professionals to work with than the men and women of the Anthony Police Department.
All together you will see why the APD is a great place to grow and develop your career. We are looking for driven individuals who wish to take their professionalism to new heights through the wealth of training and educational opportunities available through the Department.
Anthony police officers receive an education in crime prevention, narcotics enforcement, law, community affairs, patrol operations and investigations.
Many of our officers and detectives participate in specialty units such as general and specialized criminal investigations, drugs and vice interdiction, K-9 operations, fugitive apprehension squads, gang suppression activities, tactical operations, cyber crimes investigation, vehicle crash reconstruction, and others.
The Department currently does not have an academy. El Paso Community College hosts, year-round, a Law Enforcement Training Academy that our department at times recruits trainees from. Trainees must have completed the academy and pass the state exam to be considered for employment.
